Baby Shower (by Brian's family)

Our first baby shower by the Fortner family was scheduled on February 2nd. I had a feeling that I just wasn't going to go that long and I told Nicole and Brian's mom Cindy that I was scared I wasn't going to make it until then. But they wanted to have it then anyways! I showed them right? ;) They rescheduled it to the 16th so my Mom could be a part of it. It turned out really well, Cindy did such a good job decorated and making food (we had lasagna, veggies, crackers and cheese.. etc.) We had a good crowd and I got a lot of really good gifts.

The cake had raspberry filling, it was delicious!

The table centerpiece, our theme was Air for the element of Akasha's Zodiac sign

Akasha's first Bath

Brian and I decided to wait until Grandma got here on the 14th of February to give Akasha her first bath so she could enjoy it with us! We were going to give her a bath the night before the baby shower which turned out well, because she decided to POOP all over her back right before! It was totally disgusting!!!! It took 3 people to get the bath ready for our little angel. Brian was cleaning the baby bath, I was getting the shampoo, towels, washcloth, and baby wash, while Grandma was holding the naked baby and her poopy back!

She was really happy at first until Brian and Grandma accidentally got water in her eyes! They didn't mean to though! Then we put her in her beautiful pink robe, which doesn't really fit but hey! She's absolutely adorable anyways, whether it fits or not, says Grandma.

Her first week

The first week after labor has been great!! After the sore butt and boobs of course! (I know that's probably too much information, but you'll live!) Basically our daily routine is as follows: Feed, sleep, change diaper. Feed, sleep, change diaper. Feed, sleep, change diaper! Over and over again. She usually has her eyes open for a total of 10-15 minutes for the whole day. It's very exciting! I love every second of it. Yes, even the poops.. they are HILARIOUS!! Who would have thought something so beautiful and small could make such disgusting noises and stink sooooo bad?! It's GREAT! Brian and I have sooo much fun taking pictures... Here are a few!

Beautiful eyes!!

Gotta love those little socks! Too cute!

Our little angel

She's just too cute!!

Kickin` it with Daddy

I love these two!

This is one of my favorite pictures

So, Daddy made a sling. The cutest thing ever okay, seriously. He found an sheet that was just hanging out in the closet and tied the thing together and voila! Made a sling! She actually loves it, we think maybe because it feels like she's back in the womb.

She just loves it in there!

MOHAWK!!!!

So content with mommy

After I changed her diaper, she rolled on her side all by herself! She's such a strong little lady!

Naked in her bouncer!! Totally funny that Tiffany and Josh had the same one for Logan!!

Akasha June

Akasha is here!! Here's how I see it, in a priceless commercial mode.
Pregnancy... Kinda hurts
Labor... Hurts
Delivery... Hurts bad
Holding the baby in your arms after 28 hours of labor? Priceless

It's so amazing how you can love someone so much, that you will do anything for when you just met them 2 days ago? She's just the cutest thing in the whole world and I love her more than anything that has ever existed (yes, even Shrek)! My motherly instinct is soooo strong, I figured it would be, but I had no idea it would be this intense. I just love the feeling of being a mom. Now I know how every other mom in the world feels about their child. It's like to the point where you would murder anyone who would dare hurt your child. And you just want to SCREAM because she's just THAT CUTE! I don't even mind the dirty diapers. My very first diaper change was yesterday and it's really not so bad... yet. Well anyways! Here are a few pictures of the big day!

Brian and I during labor

White and goopy!

The most amazing feeling ever

Totally forgetting about all of the pain I was in

Proud Daddy ;)

Her first close up

Look at all that hair!!

Brian and I will be taking lots and lots of more pictures (we both love pictures) so I will be updating shortly! I love you all!

I just LOVE this pic!

I had to post another blog with this edited picture, because I love the picture sooo much! Brian and I don't get to take very many pictures together, we don't really have anybody to take pictures of us! So I LOVE it when we get such a cute one together! Anyways, this picture was taken last week, before the baby shower.. I don't think I've gotten any bigger, and I didn't gain any weight in a week, so I probably still look the same! My next appointment is on Wednesday (Jan 30)! Another baby shower on the 2nd! Talk to you everyone soon!

Baby Shower! (by Applebee's)

Right before the baby shower, Brian and I took pictures. This is me 20 days before my due date!

SO BIG!

This one is my most favorite, but it was too dark! I'm having Brian try and fix it on photoshop, if it turns out better, I will post the more awesome picture.

Nicole and Rita from Applebee's threw me my first baby shower. It was really fun. We invited almost all of our girls from Applebee's, but unfortunately we chose to have the shower on the weekend of Martin Luther King Jr. Day and the restaurant was REALLY busy! So half the girls that we invited couldn't come because they were stuck at work! We had a pretty good turn out anyways. I received a clothes, a wiggly gym, socks, shoes, diapers, blankets and a diaper mat thingy!

A few of the decorations they put up, they were really cute.
Nicole went to Party City and found a whole bunch of cute decorations, they got me a a stuffed doggie that says "it's a girl" and that you could sign, it was really cute. They also got me a disposable camera that was specifically for baby showers and it printed something on each picture, like the ones you will see down below.

This is Nicole, Rita and I

Me holding Shannon's baby, he was born 9 1/2 LBS!

Cupcakes were yummy!

Linsey and I, she just had her baby, her baby was under 6 LBS!

Anyways, that was baby shower #1, my second baby shower will be on February 2nd thrown by Brian's mom and sister. Only 18 more days until the baby is due!! Hopefully sooner rather than later! I love you all!
